* Base board

The building model will be constructed on a base board（270×270×6 mm）provided by NCREE. The mass of each base board, MB, will be weighted and recorded at the start of the competition. 22mm of clearance must be left around the edges of the base board such that the model can be fixed to the shaking-table with screws.（click for detail）

* Number of holes

A total of at most 16 holes of 8mm diameter can be drilled on the base board for fixing the columns to the base board.

* Number of floors

The building model must have at least 4 horizontal floors, which may be supported at any way desired. A flat roof will be treated as a floor. The base board can be used as the ground (first) floor of the model.

* Clear distance

The distance between the top of the girder (beam which connects the columns) of any floor and the bottom of the girder of the floor above must be at least 15 cm (i.e. the clear distance). The fixings for the steel blocks on the model are not counted as part of the floors.（click for detail ）

* Area of floors

Not counting the ground (first) floor, the total area of all the other floors must be between 750 and 950 sq. cm. The maximum area allowed for each floor is 320 sq. cm, except the ground (first) floor. （click for detail ）
